Serving Injured Veterans Workshop / Licensing for Professionals

This is a mandatory workshop for all personnel who will be working within the Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies Program. Our veterans co-teach with other qualified professionals to give administrative and fitness personnel up-to-date information on related topics including military culture, Post Traumatic Stress, Military sexual Trauma, disability awareness (visible and invisible), solutions to barriers in a fitness facility environment, and exercise programming.

This first hand experience builds the professional's capacity of awareness of veteran specific issues, provides information and boosts confidence to run interviews. The workshop also offers guidance for running the monthly networking events, safe and effective exercise and wellness programs, and direction for collecting data and evaluative results. These are important topics on which to be educated to earn a veteran's respect and trust in our services.

Requirements for participation: CTRS/CPRP. Current ACSM certification or current NCCA accredited health/fitness related certification (e.g.) ACE, NCSF, NASM, NFPT, NSCA, Cooper Institute, etc. COPSKT, LCSW, AKTA or similar. 1.5 CEU's will apply specific to your credentials.

Veterans In Transition Series

Transition after military service is a never-ending process. This series addresses not only the challenges Veterans face but also the challenges of family and friends. Workshops are geared towards various audiences, addressing the topics most pertinent to them while opening the floor to questions and concerns not readily available in other arenas.

To schedule a training workshop with AllenForce, please call 779-205-3314. For resource material, the FULL VERSION of Veterans in Transition Booklet is an available download for a $10 donation. This was written based on the hundreds of conversations/intake interviews with veterans, mostly combat veterans. There is a sample of the booklet here. To order the complete book, please offer a donation with the attached form and we will send you the book in the mail within a week or you may download the full version. This is a fantastic tool for families and co-workers of veterans to assist with their understanding of the unique mindset or perception as they interact daily.

Veteran Culture Training

In order to serve, one must have a base understanding of their audience. Veterans have a unique culture and respond better overall to those who have an appreciation for and basic knowledge of that uniqueness. Connect with veterans in their world and open your mind to a new perspective. This training is designed for professionals who wish to serve, work with, or hire Veterans.

Please call AllenForce office to discuss scheduling at (779) 205-3314.

Continuing Education on Veteran Culture

Every day research is being done to help our veterans with the challenges they face. From this we have learned more about the effects of exposures such as Agent Orange, Burn Pits and more. Keeping up with topics related to Veteran Culture will aide professionals as they continue to serve Veterans. AllenForce offers continuing education credits for various professions through their workshops. Be sure to take advantage of the opportunities and stay in the know.
